The quest to achieve better productivity and efficiency is ubiquitous in today’s world. However, even as businesses work hard to bring a strategic plan to fruition, oftentimes, the results are far from satisfactory. Turning around this common scenario is vital for businesses to evolve and thrive amidst disruptive market forces.

This is where Lcubed Consulting’s proven formula can help businesses to transform quickly and exceed their business objectives. “We build capabilities in organizations so employees are better equipped to embrace change and capable of building a dynamic business that can grow and respond to disruption effectively,” says Lisa L. Levy, founder and CEO of Lcubed Consulting.

The Power of Adaptive Transformation

To bring forth change, Lcubed follows a unique approach called adaptive transformation. “We are not reinventing the wheel,” says Lisa. Lcubed combines the four powerful frameworks of project management, process and performance management, internal controls, and organizational change management into a strategic tool to help businesses accomplish more, faster, and with less effort over time.

The adaptive transformation framework starts with understanding the capabilities in an organization and making sure that people are aligned with the proficiencies required to fulfill those capabilities. Adopting a “people first” approach, the primary focus is to identify the gaps in competencies and skills of employees and addressing them through training and coaching or, in some circumstances bringing in new resources into the organization. The next step is to align the identified capabilities with processes that are well designed and have in-built controls and metrics to measure the performance of the organization. “If the KPIs are not met, we can identify whether it is due to inefficient processes, or inadequate training of people,” explains Lisa. The ensuing focus is on enabling processes with technology so that the repetitive steps are automated, and the human capital can focus on making strategic and impactful decisions, ultimately empowering an organization to be more productive and efficient.

According to Lisa, of the four foundational frameworks, organizational change management is the most impactful one. Lcubed works with organizations in positioning their teams to willingly embrace the change on an ongoing basis without resisting it. Unlike traditional consulting engagements, when time and budget constraints come into the picture and taking people through the organizational change journey gets sidelined, Lcubed believes that people are a part of the journey and not an afterthought. “It is critical to lead with a people-first approach to achieve success in any change management initiative,” says Lisa. “With adaptive transformation, we want to have the right people doing the right work supported by the right technology.”

Aligning People, Process, and Technology

From among their varied customer engagements, Lisa describes a typical scenario, where Lcubed engages with an organization to implement a technology upgrade.

Ideally, the client engagement starts ahead of the selection of the technology to get the people and processes aligned such that the technology delivers what it’s supposed to do. Firstly, the Lcubed team invests time and effort in understanding a client’s existing environment, the roles and skills of people, and the efficiency of processes. Once the people and processes are attuned, they evaluate the technology to ascertain its capability and determine whether the organization has outgrown it. “Most often, it turns out to be that the current technology is good enough, but the business may need to redesign its usage of the technology to align with the new and improved processes to obtain the capabilities they seek,” explains Lisa.

In yet another scenario, Lcubed adopted an outside-in approach to understand the customer needs of an organization that wanted to improve its customer experience quotient. Although the client’s team was working hard, the results were limited because the processes in place were ill-conceived, and technology was not making it easy for them either. At the outset, Lcubed took the team along, many of them with an average tenure of ten years or more with the company, through an exercise of imagining a future where things would work the way they are supposed to. Subsequently, the Lcubed team imparted training and built skills and knowledge and laid the roadmap to get to the future state. “Alongside building the future state process, we had 25 change agents, the most resistant of buying into the change, who grew organically through our process and became the change champions who led from the front,” says Lisa. “We want to make our clients self-reliant so ultimately they can perform independently without us being there.” Lcubed created a stronger impact in the organization in shorter duration as opposed to numerous other consulting organizations that have been in and out of that environment over the last several years.

The Experiential Edge

Lcubed works with a collaborative group of alliance partners, who are subject matter experts in varied technologies and sectors, capable of resolving the unique problems faced by their clients. “I am bringing a team to the table who has been there and done that,” adds Lisa. Unlike larger consulting organizations that deploy subject matter experts only to supervise the work while the younger consultants execute the tasks as part of their training, Lcubed follows a different ideology. “Our approach is very specific. The learning years are not the consulting years. We have invested our careers in learning, and we are now giving it back as consultants so our clients don’t have to learn some of the lessons the hard way that we did,” says Lisa.

Lisa’s 20 years of competence and passion in organizational transformation is embodied in her book titled “Future Proofing Cubed.” The book, an exploration of adaptive transformation, encapsulates stories from various industry leaders who have learned the lessons the hard way and highlights how they have used the adaptive transformation framework to deal with things differently.

Lcubed, with its cost-effective and streamlined approach, is delivering a service level that helps founders and CEOs of small and medium-sized companies, which cannot afford the top four consulting firms, take their ideas to the next level and increase the revenue. “I want leaders to be in a position where they are energized to experiment with new things and know their employees are going to participate in the experience,” concludes Lisa.
